The Power of Duality

Duality is one of our most important natural laws. 

Duality is necessary for all the things we want in life; ease, flow, success, happiness, and that feeling of being “whole” (because wholeness cannot exist without duality).

Light/dark

Day/night 

Yin/Yang

Sun/moon

Male/female

breathe in/breathe out 

And today, on the Equinox (which literally means “Equal Night,” 12 hours each of day and night), I invite you to begin practicing duality in YOUR life and business. 

Once you’ve mastered the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies in yourself, everything else begins to flow.  

However, maintaining that balance takes intention. Most people will lean one way or the other in their energy.

For example;

♂ Masculine energy is DOING. Setting up your tech, launching a new product, writing sales copy, pricing, researching, making money, and paying bills. 

♀ Feminine energy is CREATING. Dreaming up a new product idea, getting creative with the colors & fonts, making it pretty, journaling, meditating, daydreaming, visualizing, and setting intentions. 

There is a misconception in our world that only masculine energy can make money in business. That only ROI projects are worthwhile, and that everything you spend time on has to help the bottom line. 

This is the belief of hustle culture. 

But what if I told you, in reality, there has to be balance? There needs to be equal amounts of masculine and feminine energy to be successful (whatever success looks like for you). 

You know that saying, “behind every successful man is a great woman?” Of course there is! That is what created the masculine/feminine balance for that man to become successful. 

For thousands of years, women have supported men from behind the scenes, but society thought it was only the hard-working man who was creating the success, and the feminine counterpart was overlooked. 

This is also why there are “starving artists.” People who only create with feminine energies. They don’t want masculine energy in their life - things like sales, money, and promotion. And as a result, their beautiful art goes unnoticed in the world.  

FYI - masculine and feminine energy doesn’t have to mean male and female. Often, it does play into those more traditional roles, but not always. It’s simply energy, and energy doesn’t have gender. 

Now here is where it gets exciting… you can be a completely whole person. You can provide both masculine and feminine energy in your life! You don’t need anyone else. (Do we want other people? Of course. But you don’t need someone else to make you whole.)

👉 Begin practicing an equal mix of both masculine and feminine energy. 

What does this look like? 

If you spend an entire day setting up a new product - you write the sales page, link the email sequence, set up the payment processor, and create the promo material - then you just spent a day in masculine energy. 

So to balance it, spend the next day pampering yourself. Go for a walk in nature, soak in the tub, read a book, take a nap, dance, laugh, and sing. Do all the things that make you feel nurtured. Spend an equal amount of time in feminine energy. 

Try tightening up the cycles even more. (This is how I do it.)

✓ Work for an hour, then play for an hour. 

✓ Work for an hour, play for an hour.

✓ Work for an hour… you get the point. 

Dreaming, playing, laughing, singing, dancing, loving, napping… they will all make you money. 

And so does selling, promoting, tracking, organizing, paying bills, and planning. 

One is not more important than the other, they are both equal. 

During the next new moon, you will feel the effects of her increased energy and you will want to start DOING.

Take time now to pamper yourself. Really get into your feminine energy and soak up all the creativity, inspiration, and feel-good vibes. 

Then, when you feel inspired to work, take action! Do the things, charge ahead, and make progress! 

⇢ This is “inspired action.”

The perfect blending of masculine and feminine energies. It’s not forced, it doesn’t come from a place of desperation or “should.” It’s your flow state - when your greatest wisdom will bubble to the surface and scream to be released into the world. 

This is why I created Magic Moon Society. It’s not about pushing yourself to be productive for productivity’s sake. It’s about using the moon’s energy to amplify your flow state, so your higher self can express itself more easily.
